Frequently asked Questions
Q. What is Remy Hair
A. Remy hair is real hair can be Indian, Chinese or other various hair types. Indian hair is highly regarded in the hair industry because of its flexibility, durability, and texture. Indian hair is naturally thick and lustrous, so it gives best possible styling and installation options for extensions. Remy Indian hair goes hand in hand with long lasting quality, so you can rest assured if the hair I use is guaranteed to be Remy Indian hair.
Q. Will hair extensions damage my hair?
A. I get asked this question a lot - as long as the hair extensions are applied properly and you take the proper care of them there should be no damage. I have personally had clients with very thin hair have extensions for years with absolutely no damage. A lot of this depends on you. It is best to sleep with your hair in a braid or pony tail to help this. You need to be gentle with your hair. If you are used to just ripping a brush or comb through your hair they may not be for you. Using the correct brush helps and making sure your hair is kept tangle free and free flowing is very important. Extensions are not hard to take care of you just have to be aware hat maintenance will be more than you may be used to but the benefits are amazing!
My recommendation is to run your fingers between your bonds every day to keep your extensions separated. This is very important!
Q. How long do Hair Extensions last?
A. 3 months. Although they can be kept in longer, longer wear can cause stress on your hair and should be avoided.
Q. Can I mix colours?
A. Mixing colours is an excellent idea. Most people naturally have more than one colour in their hair, so blending colours will give a more natural look. Extensions are also a great way to add highlights or chunks of colour without chemically treating your own hair.
Q. How do I wash my Hair Extensions?
A. I always recommend you do not was your new hair extensions for 48hours to let your hair settle and get used to the bonds. When washing your hair let the water run down your hair, try not to rub when applying shampoo and smooth on conditioner avoiding the roots, hair can be towe dried and eft to dry naturally or blow dried. Do not sleep with wet hair as this can soften the bonds.
Q. Can I straighten, curl and style my hair extensions?
A. Yes! The hair used is remy human hair which you can treat like your noral hair, you can straighten, curl and style your hair as normal. Avoid getting heat on the bonds as they can weaken. It is very common to lose up to 15 bonds over 3 months from brushing do not panic this is normal.
Q. Can I remove hair extensions myself?
A. It is highly recommended that you book an appointment with your trained technician to remove your hair extensions. If removed by an untrained person this can result in damage to the natural hair.
Q. Why does my hair seem to shed
A. Your natural hair sheds on a daily basis as part of the natural process. It is normal to loose up to 50 hairs a day! Just because hair extensions are fitted does not mean this natural process stops. The hair may get slightly thinner over the 3 months and you may lose yup to 10 bonds this is completely normal.
Q. Can I swim and go into the sea?
A. You can swim in swimming pools and the sea, however it is best to wash your hair straight after any of these as it is more likely to take the moisture from the hair therefore causing tangling so you could use a spray in conditioner to help with this.
